The school was founded in 1868 by Rev. John Braz Fernandes, (Vicar of the Church of Our Lady of Salvation, Dadar) and was then known as St. Johnâ€™s School. In 1875, Dr. Antonio da Silva of Dadar through the good offices of Rev. John B. Fernandes, left by his will the bulk of his estate for the foundation of a high school. The school then came to be known by its present name. In June 1963, the Technical stream was shifted to a new building at Veer Savarkar Marg, Dadar. In 1978, the Junior CollegeÂ of Commerce was started. The school is a Catholic, minority institution, administered by a Catholic Trust. The school is an English medium institution affiliated to the Archdiocesan Board of Education and prepares pupils for the Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSC).
